perhaps it was not that we did not know how we felt,
rather that we were unwilling to accept it.
perhaps we knew all along - women and goddesses never belonged together,
for how could such a cruel and pitiful creature such as a human ever compare with a being like yourself?
perhaps it was admitted, long ago, that women and goddesses belonged together like sky and earth, parted forever by the cruelty of the universe.
but we wouldn’t know,
because none of this is real.
