okay so the way the red queen fandom has treated mare has always rubbed me the wrong way, like you know, rubbing a cactus along my arm wrong

at first i just thought it was because she was one of my faves and i just felt strongly about her

but then i started noticing that you guys were disliking her for some strange reasons, like wanting to fucking stay alive

mare is a self preserver, like a lot of ppl are, and i think you see this in male characters a lot, and not necessarily in female character which is why a lot of ppl are shitting themselves over her, calling her all sorts of fucked up things

mare has been through hell, stabbed through the heart and walked away with her head held high

and yet

even though she’s a poc strong ass female character, we’re back to calling her a ‘bitch’ and ‘selfish’

ah yes, how the want to live to see the next day is selfish

ONE OF MY BIGGEST PET PEEVES IS HOW YOU ALL FUCKING ATTACK MARE and yet nothing, about the way cal was acting all throughout glass sword

he was an asshole, plain and straight, a hypocritical asshole

and yet

not a mention of his behavior, not a mention of the way he treated mare, not a whisper behind his actions

i wonder why, honestly. why?

is a ambitious, logical yet emotional, strong FLAWED, female character shat upon, while the guys get to sit on almost there literal thrones

that’s why im mad mare barrow, silver, red, strong, brave human, mare, gets hated on so much by this fandom

#mare has every reason to not trust everyone#she trusted cal in RQ and he went against the rebellion#she trusted Maven and he became the worst piece of human garbage to walk the earth#she trusted Farley and then the bomb got dropped and even though it wasn’t Farley she still realized it was getting harder and harder#to walk into situations where she doesn’t know everything that’s happening#mare deserves to be ‘selfish’ she deserves to care about whether or not she lives#she deserves to not trust every person blindly because that screwed her up and almost got her killed by someone she loved#more than once actually via @starfallvelaris
