• ok so it started with marlene mckinnon leaving pieces of feminist literature lying around their room and always yelling at the boys about double standards and male privilege
  
• somehow marlene’s anger rubs off on lily evans and before she knows it she’s asking to borrow some of the feminist literature
• and then lily and marlene become the unstoppable feminist duo
• james potter’s (thankfully relatively rare) womanising comments are pointed out and james is frequently given feminist lectures by the girl he’s trying to get to like him
• anyway, lily ends up befriending sirius and remus before she befriends the other marauders
• and one night they’re having a typical conversation when james says something and remus and sirius respond in unison
• “prongs, that’s sexist.”
  
• james sighs in frustration that his friends are being stolen away by lily evans of all people but he watches his words after that.
• lily and james start dating soon afterwards.

ok good but James desperately trying to make sure he’s not being sexist because he doesn’t want to be prejudiced in any way (not against muggleborns, not against women, never against Lily) and eventually reading the feminist literature and calling other people out on it and finally the head boy and girl reprimanding people not just for using mudblood but also using gendered slurs and sexist language
